Università degli Studi di PaviaManuela Sellitto has a Bachelor degree in Psychology, a Master degree in Neuropsychology, and she obtained an international PhD degree, both in Italy and Wales, in Cognitive Neuroscience. She is interested in the neural correlates of human decision-making and body representation. In particular, she explores the domains of intertemporal choice, risky decision, and prosocial behavior, as well as the mediating role of bodily signals
integration in these processes. She studies brain lesioned patients and other clinical populations, including individuals with eating disorders, and she uses diverse behavioral paradigms, as well as magnetic resonance imaging, hormonal, and psychophysiological protocols. Manuela Sellitto has also carried out scientific studies for many years in Germany, she is co-investigator of several national- and internationally-funded projects, and she spent some time as a medical manager, enjoying the dissemination of scientific advances to the lay audience besides experts in the field. She is currently a
researcher and an academic teacher and she teaches Neurocognitive Rehabilitation, Brain Anatomy, and Cognitive Neuroscience at the University of Pavia, as well as she is Associate Editor of Frontiers in Behavioral Neuroscience.
