Università degli Studi di FirenzeIsabelle Seidita received her Bachelor’s Degree in Biological Sciences (2018) and her Master’s Degree in Molecular and Applied Biology (2020) from the University of Florence, Italy. She subsequently obtained her PhD in Biomedical Sciences (2024) at the same university, where her research focused on the role of sphingosine 1-phosphate in inflammatory, proliferative, and fibrotic mechanisms, with implications in particular in uterine disorders and endometriosis. During her doctoral studies, she completed an exchange program at the Center for Molecular Biomedicine,
Jena University Hospital, Germany, developing innovative methods to measure sphingosine 1-phosphate distribution in the plasma of sepsis patients.
Following her PhD, she stayed at the University of Florence as a Postdoctoral Fellow, where she continues to investigate the role of sphingosine 1-phosphate in neurodegeneration and gender-specific fibrotic responses.
Her research has been published in leading journals, including Cellular Signalling, iScience, The FEBS Journal, FASEB Journal, Fertility and Sterility, and the American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and she has presented her work at numerous international conferences, including the FEBS, FASEB, and Sphingolipid Club meetings.
