Professor
Università degli Studi di ParmaHe obtained his PhD in “Design and Synthesis of Biologically Active Compounds” in 2016, at the Department of Pharmacy (now Department of Food and Pharmaceutical Sciences) of the University of Parma. Since 2025, he has been Associate Professor of Pharmaceutical Chemistry at the Department of Food and Pharmaceutical Sciences Food and Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Parma. Since 2021, he has been a member of the Faculty Council of the Doctorate in Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Parma. His research focuses on the design and
optimization of biologically active compounds and the study and rationalization of structure-activity relationships (SAR). In particular, his research focuses on the study of agents with anti-inflammatory and neuroprotective activity and, in particular, compounds capable of inhibiting the enzymes MGL (monoacylglycerol lipase) and FAAH (fatty acid amide hydrolase), responsible for the degradation of the main endocannabinoids 2-arachidonoylglycerol and anandamide, and compounds that inhibit the NAAA (N-acyl ethanolamine acid amidase) enzyme, responsible for the lipid mediator palmitoylethanolamide. The research also focuses on the study of compounds with antitumor activity, with particular reference to covalent inhibitors of the EGFR kinase domain, inhibitors of the ephrin system and their receptors, inhibitors of the YAP-TEAD protein-protein complex, and inhibitors of FGF
