Full professor of Human Anatomy

Università degli Studi di Bologna - Alma Mater Studiorum

Prof. Stefano Ratti, MD, PhD, is Full Professor of Human Anatomy and Principal Investigator of the Laboratory
Cellular Signalling at the University of Bologna, with a focus on neuroscience and neuro-oncology. His business
research focuses on the molecular mechanisms of neurological diseases, including glioblastoma and leukodystrophy
autosomal dominant adult-onset (ADLD), using cellular and organoid models and advanced imaging approaches
for the study of lipid signaling, phospholipases and the role of astrocytes. He is responsible for Spoke's WP1
6 of the PNRR MNESYS project on neurodegeneration, trauma and stroke, integrating molecular, cellular and
translational for the identification of new biomarkers and therapeutic targets. It also coordinates projects aimed at analysing the
microenvironment of diseases, pharmacological experimentation and the study of molecular pathways in neurological pathologies
rare and aggressive, simultaneously developing innovative anatomical teaching methodologies, including augmented reality and
graphic medicine. His work integrates basic neuroscience, translational research, and anatomical training, with 111
publications, 1772 citations and an h-index of 25.
