Associate Professor
Università degli Studi di CagliariFederica Pinna has been Associate Professor of Psychiatry (SSD MED/25) at the University of Cagliari since 2017 and obtained the National Scientific Qualification as Full Professor (06/D5) in 2022. She earned her MD in 1999 (cum laude, special mention), completed her Psychiatry Residency in 2004 (cum laude, special mention), and obtained a PhD in Psychiatric Sciences in 2008 (University of Messina). She also completed two second-level master’s degrees: in Clinical Psychopharmacology (Vita-Salute San Raffaele University, 2009) and in Healthcare Management 4.0
(Unitelma Sapienza, 2024). In 2009, she obtained a specialization in Bionomic Psychotherapy and Autogenic Training (cum laude). From 2009 to 2017, she served as University Researcher (SSD MED/25) at the same institution. Since October 2023, she has been Director of the Psychiatry Unit (Complex Operative Unit) at the University Hospital of Cagliari and a member of the PhD Program Board in Neuroscience. She has held key roles (e.g., Principal Investigator, Co-PI, Study Coordinator, Sub-Investigator, and Data Manager) in numerous national and international multicenter
clinical studies in collaboration with academic institutions, research centers, and pharmaceutical companies. Since 2003, she has actively participated in scientific conferences as a speaker, moderator, scientific coordinator, and committee member. Her clinical and research interests include mood, anxiety and psychotic disorders; personality disorders, eating disorders, gender identity and gender dysphoria, consultation-liaison psychiatry and the effectiveness of evidence-based treatments. She is involved in both undergraduate and postgraduate teaching.
