Doctoral student in Medical, Clinical and Experimental Sciences
Università degli Studi della Campania - Luigi VanvitelliDeanira Patrone is a PhD student in Medical, Clinical and Experimental Sciences at the University of Campania “Luigi Vanvitelli”, where she carries out her research in the field of stem cells and neuropsychiatric disorders. Her research focuses on Muse cells (Multilineage-differentiating Stress-Enduring cells), used as an innovative in vitro model for the study of psychiatric pathologies such as schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. Through neuroglial protocols developed in the laboratory, it guides the differentiation of these cells towards specific neuronal subtypes, such as GABAergic and glutamatergic neurons, in order to analyze morphological, molecular and functional alterations related to the disease.
After her bachelor's degree in Medical Biotechnology and her master's degree in Medical Biotechnology at the Federico II University of Naples, both obtained with honors, he gained experimental experience in the laboratory of Prof.
Umberto Galderisi, focusing on the role of Muse cells as a new model for neurological diseases.
She has participated in several national and international congresses, including Stem Cell Research Italy, StemNet, SIBBM and workshops within the PNRR MNESYS project, presenting the results of his research in poster sessions and oral communications. She also took part in a graduate course in Paris on the use of cell therapies in autoimmune diseases.
She is the author and co-author of scientific publications in international peer-reviewed journals, including Cell Communication and Signaling and Stem Cell Research & Therapy.
In addition to technical skills in cell cultures, molecular biology and biochemical assays, she has solid organizational skills, a spirit of initiative and an aptitude for teamwork. Her training and research contribute to the development of innovative cellular models for the study of mental disorders and the exploration of new therapeutic strategies.
