Type a fixed-term researcher (RTDA)
Università degli Studi di ParmaArturo Nuara is a temporary researcher at the Department of Medicine and Surgery of the University of Parma. After obtaining a degree in Medicine and Surgery (2010) and specialization in Neurophysiopathology (2016) at the Vita-Salute San Raffaele University, in 2021 he obtained a doctorate in Neuroscience at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia with a thesis aimed at studying the role of the mirror mechanism in the acquisition, consolidation and recovery of motor skills. Placing itself at the intersection of basic neuroscience and clinical applications, its scientific activity is characterized by the use of non-invasive neuromodulation techniques (TMS, tDCS), to study how different motor training strategies can modify the functional properties of the sensorimotor system. He is responsible for research units within projects funded by the Ministry of Health and has contributed to the implementation of clinical studies that have translated into a clinical setting the potential of the mirror mechanism for the improvement of motor skills in different neurological contexts (infantile cerebral palsy, stroke, multiple sclerosis). He is co-author of more than 30 works indexed in international journals (among all: PNAS, NeuroImage, Scientific Reports, Cortex and Neuroscience & Biobehavioral Reviews). At the same time, he carries out teaching activities as a professor of Physiology in degree courses in the healthcare sector, dissemination activities regarding the link between neuroscience and music, and works as a reviewer in international indexed scientific journals.
