Education and roles. I am a psychologist and post-doctoral researcher in developmental psychobiology at the University of Pavia. I obtained my BS in Psychological Sciences and Techniques (2008) and MSc in Clinical Psychology (2010) at the Vita-Salute San Raffaele University in Milan. In 2019, I recived my PhD from the Clinical, Educational, and Health Psychology Research Department of the University College London (UK) under the supervision of Prof. Pasco Fearon and Prof. Frances Rice. My PhD was funded by the Stanley Thomas Johnson Foundation through a competitive 3-year PhD Studentship Research Programme in Health and Well-Being (£ 82’187). Afterward, I held several post-doctoral fellowships at the Child Psychopathology Unit, IRCCS Eugenio Medea in Italy. In 2022, I obtained a 3-year position as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Brain and Behavioral Sciences of the University of Pavia in Italy under the supervision of Prof. Renato Borgatti, in collaboration with the Developmental Psychobiology Lab directed by Prof. Livio Provenzi. In 2025, I obtained a postdoctoral research fellow position at the Department of Public Health, Experimental and Forensic Medicine at the University of Pavia. My research focuses on how experiences across the first 1000 days can influence children’s later development and adaptation. I use a range of research approaches, including longitudinal studies, advanced statistical modelling and multidisciplinary studies combining psychological and biological measures (such as stress, inflammatory and epigenetic markers). The overarching aim of my research is to identify causal risk and protective factors for infant development that can be targeted as part of interventions and benefit parents and children.

Productivity. I authored 28 publications in international peer-reviewed journals: 17 (61%) as first author, 14 (50%) as corresponding, 4 (14%) as last author, and 25 (89%) without my PhD supervisor. Journals Impact factor: mean 4.23 (min 1.7, max 9.6). Citations: 357 by 274 papers (Scopus). H index: 11 (Scopus), 12 (Scholar). I serve as Associate Editor for Frontiers in Pediatric Psychology.
