Full Professor

I’m a full Professor of Pharmacology (since april 2025), actively involved in the institutional coordination of teaching and research. My research primary focuses on inherited neurological disorders, with a particular interest in excitability disorders and channelopathies affecting neuron and muscle, as well as acquired neuromuscular conditions such as cachexia and sarcopenia. My work is conducted using a preclinical platform that includes electrophysiology, calcium imaging, and both cell-based and animal disease models. The aim is to investigate the underlying pathophysiological
mechanisms, identify disease biomarkers and develop personalized therapies. I collaborate extensively with several academic and clinical centers, and my research findings have been published in over 100 articles in high-impact journal (3063 citations, H-index 35).
