Giusy Laudati has a degree in Biology and obtained her PhD in Neuroscience at the University of Naples "Federico Il".
Giusy Laudati is a young PostDoc with a documented experience in studying the role of transcription factors and epigenetic mechanisms in cerebral ischemia, in neurotoxicity linked to environmental pollutants. In recent years she has been interested in the molecular, neuroinflammatory mechanisms of neuromuscular diseases such as ALS and SMA.
The research line followed by Giusy Laudati includes:
• understanding the epigenetic mechanisms involved in neuroprotection,
• the study of epigenetic mechanisms that regulate the transcription of the different isoforms of the sodium/ calcium exchanger in cerebral ischemia,
• the study of the neuroprotective mechanisms of ischemic post-conditioning in in vitro and in vivo models,
• the study of the modulation of miRNAs in the molecular mechanisms related to neuromuscular diseases (ALS and
• understanding of the neuroinflammatory mechanisms linked to the onset of SMA and ALS.
