Dr. Pedro Lacal has acquired methodological skills in several fields of biological research, such as biochemistry, cell and molecular biology. His research activity was directed towards the analysis of the role of autocrine loops that involve VEGF-A and PlGF and their receptors, VEGFR-2 and/or VEGFR-1, in modulating proliferation and of the invasiveness of tumor cells, especially in metastatic melanoma.
