Associate Professor of Neuroradiology at the Department of Medical-Surgical Specialties, Radiological Sciences and Public Health of the University of Brescia and medical radiologist director at the ASST Spedali Civili of Brescia. Graduated in Medicine and Surgery with honors in 1985 and specialized in Radiology in 1991, he began his career academic as University Researcher in 1992, becoming Second Level Professor in Neuroradiology (MED/37) in 2002. Since 2003 he has been responsible for the Simple Structure with Departmental Value “Neuroradiology” at the
Department of Diagnostic Images of the Civil Hospitals of Brescia. His scientific activity is focused on study of brain structures and functions using advanced neuroimaging techniques, with particular attention to neural correlates of neurological and psychiatric disorders, including cognitive deficits in psychotic disorders. Other lines of research they include the development and application of quantitative brain imaging methodologies, the study of connectivity structural and functional and the analysis of neurobiological correlates of therapeutic interventions. He is the author of over 350 peer-reviewed publications and has participated in more than 250 national and international congresses. He is an active member of the network
european ERN EURO-NMD, contributing to neuroradiological imaging in the neuromuscular setting. In the teaching field, he teaches Neuroradiology in the Master's Degree Course in Medicine and Surgery and in various specialization schools, including Radiology, Neurology, Neurosurgery, Child Neuropsychiatry, Internal Medicine, Psychiatry and Radiotherapy, actively participating in the training of students and residents.
