Martina Gandola is a Full Professor of Neuropsychology and Cognitive Neuroscience in the Department of Brain and Behavioral Sciences at the University of Pavia. She graduated in Clinical Psychology from the University of Turin in 2000 and obtained her PhD in Psychology in 2005 at the University of Pavia. During her PhD, she conducted neuropsychological research on spatial cognition, body representation, and motor awareness. In 2004, she was a visiting student at the Institute of Cognitive Neuroscience (ICN), University College of London. From 2006 to 2011, she was a
Research Fellow at the University of Milan-Bicocca, where she contributed to neuroimaging studies on healthy individuals and patients with neuropsychological deficits. She currently teaches courses in Physiological Psychology, Neuroimaging and Neurostimulation Techniques, and Clinical Neuropsychology at the University of Pavia. She is the author of numerous studies published in leading international neuroscience journals (e.g., Science, Brain, Neurology, Cortex, Current Biology) as well as book chapters. Her research interests include body representation, motor imagery,
and motor awareness.
