PhD student

Federica Franza is a Biomedical Engineer and PhD student at the University of Campania “Luigi Vanvitelli”. Her research
focuses on the integration of advanced processing technologies for MRI data from different modalities, e.g. functional
MRI (fMRI), diffusion-weigthed MRI (DWI) and perfusion-weigthed MRI (PWI), for the extraction of MRI-derived
metrics to be used for studying brain and the alterations associated with pathological conditions. Her work aims to
investigate the impact of key parameter settings in MRI-based neuroimaging studies — including the criteria and/or scale
used for brain parcellation, as well as different metric extraction approaches — on the reproducibility of measurements
in physiological conditions, particularly when integrating multiple MRI modalities. She has presented her research
through both oral and poster presentations at national and international conferences, such as OHBM (Seoul, South Korea)
and IEEE MetroXRAINE 2024 (St Albans, London, UK).
