Research fellow
Università degli Studi di Bari - Aldo MoroMaria Fiore, born in Acquaviva delle Fonti (BA) on 4/12/1996, is a research fellow at the Department of Translational Biomedicine and Neuroscience of the University of Bari “Aldo Moro”. His scientific activity is focused on the study of the genetic risk associated with psychiatric disorders and on the analysis of related biological pathways, through the use of induced pluripotent stem cells. Previously, he contributed to the development of nutraceutical interventions to counteract antipsychotic-induced metabolic syndrome, using cell lines immortalized and individual-specific adipocytes derived from stem cells isolated from urinary sediment.
His education includes a degree in Biological Sciences and a master's degree in Biosanitary Sciences obtained with honors in 2022. She is qualified to practice as a biologist and is enrolled in the School of Specialization in Clinical Pathology and Clinical Biochemistry at the University of Bari. Participates in numerous training courses in the scientific, clinical and regulatory fields.
His technical scientific skills include: management of immortalized, primary and stem cell cultures; cytotoxicity studies; gene and protein expression analysis (qRT-PCR, Western Blotting, immunocytochemistry); biochemical and bioenergetic assays; isolation and characterization of extracellular vesicles and analysis on different biological matrices (serum, blood, feces and saliva).
He has contributed to studies whose results have been presented at national and international conferences and published.
He is a member of the Italian Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and of the Italian Society of Clinical Biochemistry and Clinical Molecular Biology. Possesses good English proficiency (B2) and computer skills for experimental data analysis. It combines aptitude for teamwork, organizational skills and experience in scientific dissemination.
