I am a third-year PhD student in the Translational Neuroscience Laboratory of Prof. Alessandro Usiello at
the University of Campania “Luigi Vanvitelli”. My research focuses on elucidating the role of D-amino acids in
neurodevelopmental, neuromuscular, neurodegenerative, and psychiatric disorders, with the goal of identifying novel
molecular signatures and new therapeutic perspectives.
Before starting my PhD, I completed a post-graduate research fellowship (2021–2022) in the Laboratory of Physiology
led by Prof. Giovanna Traina at the University of Perugia, where I investigated how probiotics modulate intestinal
epithelial barrier function and epithelial–immune crosstalk.
I earned my Master’s degree in Medicinal Chemistry and Pharmaceutical Technology (2021) from the University of
Perugia. During my thesis in Prof. Massimo Moretti’s laboratory, I developed expertise in cellular and molecular biology
techniques, studying the cytotoxicity and genotoxicity of phytocomplexes and novel active pharmaceutical compounds
across multiple cell lines.
