Associate Professor

Giacomo Deste was born in 1979. He graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Brescia in 2007 and in 2012 he completed the School of Specialization in Psychiatry (Director Prof. Emilio Sacchetti) at the same Universita. He is Associate Professor of Psychiatry in the Department of Clinical and Experimental Sciences at the University from the Brescia Studies and Director of the Department of Mental Health and Addictions of the ASST Valcamonica. His scientific activity focuses on schizophrenia spectrum disorders and serious mental disorders, with particular attention to cognitive deficits and their treatment through cognitive remedial interventions and psychosocial approaches evidence-based. Other lines of research include psychosocial functioning, neurobiological correlates, and neuroimaging of therapeutic interventions and the impact of cognitive deficits in the context of forensic psychiatry. He's author of numerous publications in international peer-reviewed scientific journals and collaborates with various journals international as review editor. He is a teacher in degree courses and actively involved in the training of residents in psychiatry.
