Fondazione Don Carlo Gnocchi Onlus - IRCCSSasha D'Ambrosio, born 8/25/1989, post-doc neurophysiologist.
Main information: I deal with the neurophysiology of sleep and brain lesions, integrating polysomnographies, EEG and TMS-EEG to extract useful indices for understanding the pathophysiology and clinical status of patients suffering from brain lesions, psychiatric pathologies and neurological pathologies.
Education: In 2020 I obtained a PhD in the fields of Physiology and Philosophy at the doctoral course in Philosophy and Human Sciences of the University of Milan; In 2016 I obtained a master's degree in Neurobiology from the University of Pavia; In 2015 he obtained a three-year degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Milan.
Experiences: Post-doc fellow at the University of Milan, involved in projects on sleep, brain injuries and psychiatric pathologies; Research collaborator at the Don Gnocchi Foundation, involved mainly in the pathophysiology of serious brain injuries; Post-doc fellow at the Fratelli Confalonieri Foundation, an experience purely focused on sleep and neurological disorders; Honorary Research Fellow at University College London and post-doc researcher at the Epilepsy Society of the UK where my work has been primarily focused
on the study of Epilepsy.
Publications: I have published several articles as a first name or as a co-author in international scientific journals, including Frontiers in Neurology, Imaging Neuroscience, Clinical Neurophysiology, Epilepsia and Human Brain Mapping; Furthermore, I have presented at national and international conferences such as ASSC 2025 in Greece, AIMS 2024 in Italy, ICCN 2024 in Indonesia and ASSC 2024 in Japan.
Awards: Fratelli Confalonieri Foundation post-doc grant (2022), Call for Ideas MIND-UNIMI (2020), IBRO PERC (2018), “Best Abstract” ESRS 2018 (2018).
