University Researcher

University researcher and medical psychiatrist director at the Department of Translational Biomedicine and Neuroscience (DiBraiN) of the University of Bari “Aldo Moro”. He deals with the neurobiology of psychosis and precision psychiatry, integrating clinical, genetic and neuroimaging data. He has carried out clinical and scientific work at King's College London and the South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust on resistant schizophrenia; in he was previously a Visiting Scholar at the Lieber Institute for Brain Development, at the Johns Hopkins Medical Campus. His clinical and research activity focused on the response to antipsychotics, studying the regulation of striatal dopamine and the neural correlates of symptoms and course of schizophrenia with MRI and PET studies. She received the SIRS Early Career Award in 2022. In MNESYS (Spoke 5) he is involved across different work packages, contributing to neuroimaging, genetic, clinical studies and prediction of treatment response and side effects. Current interests include the study of the cardiometabolic side effects of psychopharmacological treatments and the development of digital twins and digital clinical platforms to support personalized therapeutic decisions.
