Senior Researcher (Don C Foundation. Gnocchi) and Associate Professor (University of Insubria)
Fondazione Don Carlo Gnocchi Onlus - IRCCSPaolo Castiglioni received the M.Sc. degree (summa cum laude) in electronic engineering from Politecnico di Milano, Milan, Italy, in 1987, and the Ph.D. degree in bioengineering from Politecnico di Milano, in 1993. He is an Associate Professor at the “Università degli Studi dell’Insubria” in Varese (Italy) and a Senior Researcher at the Laboratory of Movement Analysis and Rehabilitation Bioengineering (Lamobir), IRCCS Fondazione Don Gnocchi, Milan (Italy). Paolo Castiglioni is author of 170 scientific papers published on peer reviewed journals and 10 book chapters, editor of
the journal Entropy, member of the scientific committee of the "European Study Group on Cardiovascular oscillations" (ESGCO). His research activities regard the analysis of biological signals, mainly cardiovascular signals, EMG and EEG; advanced algorithms for biosignal analysis, including advanced spectral techniques; time-frequency distributions; complexity-based methods for time-series analysis. Research interests also focus on modelling humoral and neural mechanisms for the control of the cardiovascular system; on the development of portable systems for long term monitoring of physiological signals; on gravitational/space physiology and sleep physiology.
