Marco Carfagno, born in 1992, is a medical specialist in Psychiatry and currently a type A fixed-term researcher (RTDA) at the University of Campania “Luigi Vanvitelli”. Having graduated in Medicine and Surgery with honors from the University of Perugia, he obtained his qualification for the medical profession and his specialization in Psychiatry from Vanvitelli, where he gained solid clinical experience, in particular in eating and mood disorders. He also carried out healthcare activities as a medical director at the Mental Health Center of Ravenna.
His training is enriched by highly specialized courses and schools, including the GIMBE Summer School on clinical trials, courses in phenomenological psychopathology and dialogic practices, as well as training in systemic-relational psychotherapy and a master's degree in multifamily psychoanalysis.
Since 2023 he has been carrying out university teaching activities at Vanvitelli, teaching courses in toxicology and substance addictions, clinical psychology and psychosocial interventions in group settings, and participates as a speaker in national and international seminars and conferences.
He is the author and co-author of numerous scientific articles published in indexed international journals, with particular attention to the psychopathology of eating disorders, the role of childhood trauma and interpersonal relationships. He has also collaborated in the drafting of chapters of psychiatry manuals and contributed abstracts to conferences of national and international importance.
Member of the Italian Society of Food Psychopathology, he also works as a referee for scientific journals. His skills integrate clinical, teaching and research approaches, with a specific interest in understanding complex psychopathological processes and therapeutic innovation in psychiatry.
