Università degli Studi di Bologna - Alma Mater Studiorum

Master's Degree in Bioinformatics with two years of experience in computational neuroscience at international institutions, currently research fellow at the University of Bologna engaged in the development of experimental paradigms in virtual reality and in the analysis of electrophysiological recordings from the parietal cortex of primates. Previous activities include Dynamic Causal Modeling analyzes to investigate the effects of sleep deprivation on brain connectivity, with results presented at international conferences such as OHBM 2024 and eSLEEP Europe
2023. My technical skills range from programming in Python and MATLAB to the use of machine learning frameworks such as PyTorch and Scikit-learn, neuroimaging analysis and development of experimental tasks with Unity Engine/C#, with particular attention to the implementation of FAIR principles and reproducible research methodologies through version control systems. International experience includes an internship at the Institute of Neuroscience and Medicine at Forschungszentrum Jülich for the development of computational pipelines for fMRI and Dynamic preprocessing
Causal Modelling, and a period of staff exchange at the University of Munster devoted to modelling relationships between neuronal activity and kinematic parameters by means of recurrent neural networks. Interdisciplinary training in chemistry, biotechnology, bioinformatics and neuroscience has fostered adaptability to new methodological frameworks and a systemic approach to understanding brain function. Future interests focus on multimodal integration into neural circuits to drive behavior, with current focus on spatial cognition and extension towards
modeling complex psychological constructs such as empathy, curiosity and imagination.
