Current position: Associate Professor of Research activities
- clinical and preclinical studies on the mechanisms of tumor proliferation, and antitumor activity of newly synthesized compounds
- studies of the expression of chemokines, somatostatin and their receptors in human brain tumors, on tumor tissues, primary cultures and cell lines and related pharmacological approaches
- antitumor activity of targeted drugs in mesothelioma stem cells (PI of the Italian Association of Cancer Research project AIRC IG13458 2012-2015: “Tumor initiating cells from malignant pleural mesothelioma: biological and pharmacological characterization”)
- isolation and characterization of tumor stem cells for 2D and 3D models of human brain neoplasms, for the study of the tumor microenvironment and the activity of innovative antineoplastic agents.
