Neuroradiology Researcher
Università degli Studi di PaviaI am a specialist in Radiodiagnostics with a focus on Neuroradiology, and I am currently a Researcher (RTD-A) at the Department of Behavioral and Nervous System Sciences at the University of Pavia and a Neuroradiologist at the Mondino IRCCS Foundation.
My clinical work involves the diagnosis of central and peripheral nervous system disorders using CT, magnetic resonance imaging, and transcranial and supra-aortic Doppler ultrasound techniques. At the same time, I carry out research dedicated to neuroinflammatory, neurodegenerative, neuromuscular, and neuropediatric diseases, with a particular focus on the application of advanced imaging biomarkers (quantitative MRI of the spinal cord, MRI of muscles and peripheral nerves, vessel wall MRI, T1/T2 mapping, and brain morphometry).
I have gained international experience as a research fellow and associate researcher at the University of California San Francisco (UCSF), collaborating on multicenter projects on multiple sclerosis and neuroinflammatory diseases.
I maintain active scientific collaborations with UCSF, Johns Hopkins University, and several national and international groups, including in innovative projects such as MNESYS and Digital Twins. I am the author of 24 peer-reviewed scientific articles published in high-impact international journals (including the Journal of Neurology, European Journal of Neurology, Annals of Neurology, AJNR, J Neuroimaging, Neuroradiology), with an h
index of 11 and more than 280 citations.
In the academic field, I teach Radiodiagnostics courses in the Health Professions degree programs at the University of Pavia and contribute to the training of medical specialists. I am a member of the main scientific societies in the field (SIRM, AINR, ESR) and a speaker at national and international conferences. An organized and proactive professional, I combine clinical, research, and teaching activities with a strong propensity for multidisciplinary and international work, with the aim of contributing to the development of new diagnostic and therapeutic strategies in euroradiology.
