Domenico Aprile is a researcher in Molecular Biology (RTD-A) at the University of Campania “Luigi Vanvitelli”. His scientific activity focuses on cellular senescence processes and stem cell biology, with particular attention to Muse cells and their role in regeneration, oxidative stress and aging mechanisms.
After his master's degree with honors in Biological Sciences at the University of Naples “Frederick II” and his PhD in Experimental and Clinical Medical Sciences, completed with honors and the title of Doctor Europaeus, he carried out international research experiences at the Instituto de Medicina Molecular in Lisbon, ERIBA in Groningen and Tohoku University in Sendai as a JSPS Fellow.
It participates in numerous national and international projects, including the PNRR MNESYS, the European MIRAMARE programme and collaborations with research groups in Turkey and Tunisia, developing innovative studies on the impact of microplastics and natural compounds on cellular processes.
Since 2023 he has been a professor of Molecular Biology in Medicine courses and in the Doctorate in Public Health. He is the author of over 20 scientific publications in peer-reviewed journals and a reviewer for numerous international newspapers.
It is an active member of scientific societies such as Stem Cell Research Italy and SENESCEL and participates in the organization of international congresses, including the Stem Cell Research Italy meetings and the SIBBM 2025 congress.
In parallel with his academic activity, he is co-founder of the innovative startup AMRITA Nutraceutics, dedicated to the development of supplements based on natural compounds, awarded for the industrial impact of research. Her career integrates basic research, translational applications, and entrepreneurship, with the goal of promoting new strategies for health and longevity.
